NJ Cops Seek Gunman in Fatal Shooting of 61-Year-Old Shop Owner

Police in New Jersey are searching for a gunman who fatally shot the owner of a small clothing store during an apparent robbery attempt.

The shooting occurred at about 5 p.m. Saturday inside the Top Plus store at 905 Bergen Ave. in Jersey City, said police and Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.

The victim was identified Sunday as 61-year-old Byungeun Lee, of Palisades Park. He was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators scoured the scene for clues Saturday.

Others who work in the area described Lee as a good man who had owned the business for quite some time.

No arrest has been made.
