Two people were killed and a third person was wounded in a shooting at the Cloud 9 nightclub in Passaic, New Jersey, early Saturday, police said.
Police were searching for the gunman, who they say fired shots outside the club around 2:45 a.m. A 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were shot in the chest and later died from their injuries, police said. Another 24-year-old man is at the hospital in critical condition. He was also shot in the chest.
Police and detectives were at the scene searching for evidence Saturday morning.
The gunman remains on the loose, and police say he was wearing a black hat or bandanna and a red shirt with silver lettering.
A motive for the shooting remains unknown, police said.
The nightclub is at the intersection of Market Street and South Street.
