Cops Walk Up to New Jersey Motel Room, Hear Gunfire and Find 2 Bodies Inside: Police

Their names have not been released, but authorities say the incident involved a "domestic dispute" and possible kidnapping

Authorities are investigating the death of a man and a woman whose bodies were found at a New Jersey motel as an apparent murder-suicide.

Cops from Paterson walked up to a room at the Knights Inn in South Hackensack in connection with an investigation shortly before 9 a.m. Monday, announced their presence and heard shots go off in the room.

They found the bodies when they eventually went inside. The identities of the man and woman have not been released.

The nature of the Paterson investigation wasn't immediately clear. However, according to the Associated Press, authorities say the incident involved a "domestic dispute" and kidnapping.

Bergen County prosecutors say the kidnapping happened in Paterson. They say the man and woman had been in a relationship, but it wasn't clear if they were still dating.

Authorities say the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
