Toothless Mummy Found in Trailer Parked Near Woods in New York

Police are asking for the public's help identifying the man; authorities aren't sure how long he may have been dead

The mummified remains of a man have been found in a trailer in Orange County, authorities say.

The body, a man of unknown age and race with reddish brown hair that was turning gray, was discovered in a trailer parked in a wooded area in Middletown Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

The man was wearing a plaid shirt, blue jeans and work boots. He had no teeth and was about 5 feet 4 inches tall, officials said. On his right hip, he wore multiple carabiners -- metal loops used for climbing -- attached as a key chain.

Attached to the carabiners were a small flashlight, a key tag with the name "Allison" and a bottle opener, authorities said.

Authorities do not suspect foul play in the man's death. Toxicology results are pending. It's not clear how long the man was dead, and authorities are asking for the public's help identifying him. Anyone with information is asked to call Middletown police.
