Mulchfest! NYC Recycles More Than 139K X-Mas Trees

They're the gifts that keep on giving.

New York City's Department of Sanitation says more than 139,000 Christmas trees discarded on curbs and turned over to the city have been recycled into mulch.

That mulch will be spread on parks, community gardens and open spaces all over the city.

Manhattan had the most recycled trees of the five boroughs, with 42,798.
