Suffolk County police say a woman was killed when the motorcycle she was a passenger on was struck by a sport utility vehicle on Long Island.
Authorities say 57-year-old Martha Garcia of Floral Park was knocked off her boyfriend's motorcycle as the SUV driver was attempting to make a left turn into her driveway in Northport. It happened around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Garcia was pronounced dead at Huntington Hospital. The SUV driver, 66-year-old Mary Santry-Rosenvinge of Northport, and the motorcyclist, 53-year-old James Losito of Floral Park, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is continuing.
