An Upper East Side man has been charged with murdering his mother.
Jonathan Schwartz, 41, allegedly stabbed his mother during a fight Saturday afternoon on East 85th Street between Park and Madison avenues, police said.
Barbara Schwartz, 67, was found stabbed in the neck and torso in her seventh-floor apartment just before 5 p.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Her son was taken into custody at the scene. Schwartz has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
An arraignment was expected Sunday. It wasn't immediately clear whether Schwartz had an attorney.
