Police are investigating after a mother and child were found dead Tuesday in a home in Englewood, N.J.
The young child and mother were found in a home on West Palisade Avenue, prosecutors said.
Tammy Gaddy, 40, appeared to have been stabbed to death and her 3-year-old daughter, Natasia Gaddy, appeared to have died of asphyxiation.
The toddler had no stab wounds and bore no signs of sexual abuse, prosecutors said.
Authorities said the mother and daughter were killed Monday but their bodies weren't discovered until police went to check on them Tuesday.
An unidentified group of neighbors or friends had called 911.
Police are questioning several people in the investigation.
The house is located a few blocks from downtown Englewood.
