Mother, 11-Month-Old Baby Vanish After Leaving Mother-in-Law's NYC Home: Police

A mother and her 11-month-old son haven't been seen since leving their mother-in-law's home on Roosevelt Island, according to the NYPD.

Hazuki Matsushita, 39, and her baby, Isse Salazar, were last seen leaving the home on the island in the East River on Nov. 18, police said. The pair were reported missing by the baby's father.

The pair both live in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, and police didn't say where they might've gone or if foul play is suspected.

Isse's father, Carlos Salazar, clutched his son's favorite stuffed animal as he told NBC 4 New York  that he hadn't had any contact with his wife for a week.

"I can't sleep, I can't eat," he said. "I'm running around, I go to restaurants that we used to go to to look for her. I'm doing everything I can."

He said the pair had been arguing about how to raise their son, but he still expected her to return to the home that Friday night.

"If you could please come back, we miss you," Salazar said. "We really want to make sure you're OK and that the baby is OK. We're willing to help, willing to do anything you want."

Anyone with information on the mother and son's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
