Wildlife officials say a bull moose has been caught after a nine-hour romp through an upstate New York city that included crossing the Hudson River twice and a gallop through an interstate at rush hour.
The Times Union of Albany reports police received a call that a moose was spotted in downtown Troy around 2 a.m. Monday.
The year-old male then took a dip in the Hudson and swam to nearby Green Island, where he roamed the streets and evaded authorities for several hours.
The moose crossed Interstate 787 on the Albany County side of the river during morning rush hour before going back across the river to Troy, where he was eventually tranquilized in a home's backyard.
Department of Environmental Conservation officials say the 600-pound animal was released in a rural area east of Troy.
