Fed Mob Bust Nets Genovese Family Members, Associates

The charges will be outlined in an indictment unsealed later Wednesday

Several members and associates of the Genovese organized crime family were arrested on federal extortion, labor racketeering and gambling charges early Wednesday, NBC New York has learned.

An investigation conducted by the FBI, U.S. Department of Labor and NYPD led to the indictments of nearly a dozen individuals, including capos and soldiers of Genovese crime family, law enforcement sources said. 

The charges are outlined in an indictment that will be unsealed later today.

The individuals arrested are expected to appear later Wednesday in federal court in Brooklyn.
