The 55-year-old New Jersey man who police say went missing shortly before his SUV was found burning at a car dealership has been found in Florida, police say.
Anthony Tassello, of Middletown, was located in Fort Lauderdale Thursday morning, according to the Monmouth County prosecutor's office. Tassello had been last seen at 9:15 a.m. Monday and was reported missing by family members.
On Tuesday, police found Tassello's 2008 Ford Escape and four other vehicles burned in a suspicious fire at Tom’s Ford Dealership on New Jersey Route 35 in Keyport.
It's not clear how Tassello ended up in the Sunshine State.
Police in Fort Lauderdale referred calls to the prosecutors in New Jersey, but spokesman Charles Webster didn't have additional information on how Tassello was found.
Webster says Tassello is not charged with any crimes.
