Beloved Pup Missing After Neighbor Recounts Bizarre Dog Walker Rampage

An East Village woman is looking for her beloved 4-year-old pit bull, Sugar, after a trusted dog walker she used for the last three years apparently lost the pooch earlier this week.

Morgan Bogles said Sugar has been missing since at least Monday. She was away on business when a neighbor called to say the pooch was gone.

"He said, 'Your dog walker is frantic, saying, 'I can't find Sugar,'" Bogles said the neighbor told her.

The neighbor told Bogles it appeared as if the dog walker had had some kind of "psychotic episode" that allegedly included trying to beat up the neighbor's dog walker and running manically up to the roof of the apartment building.

Bogles' friend checked the dog walker's apartment and found Sugar's collar, leash and coat but no sign of the dog. Now the distressed dog owner is desperate to find her cherished pet.

"I can't sleep, can't eat. I'm having breakdowns," Bogles said.

She plastered her neighborhood with pictures of the pit bull, hoping someone will see Sugar and bring her home. The two had frequented Tompkins Square Park, where fellow dog owners shared concern for Sugar.

"Everyone's been out looking and thinking of her since she disappeared," one park-goer said. "It's been so cold and we're just praying somebody has her at their house."

No charges have been filed against the dog walker.
