Pup That Took Off at LaGuardia Found Safe

A dog that escaped from her crate at LaGuardia Airport last week has been found safe and sound in Queens, her owner said Wednesday.

Tilly, an 18 pound poodle mix, had just flown in from Canada when she darted out of her crate last Friday -- taking off across the runways of LaGuardia, headed in the direction of Grand Central Parkway.

Over the next several days the adventurous canine was spotted around Astoria Boulevard and 25th Avenue and 93rd Street and 24th Avenue, her owner Roger Stern said.

She was finally picked up by a couple in East Elmhurst who recognized the wayward pup thanks to missing posters circulated by Stern and a volunteer group called Bonnie and the Strays.
