Cops Search for Bicyclist in Midtown Hit-Run That Sent Victim Into Coma With Cracked Skull

The victim is now in stable condition after being treated for the skull fracture

Police are looking for a bicyclist who struck a pedestrian so hard near Bryant Park that he cracked his skull and was placed in medically induced coma. 

The victim was crossing West 40th Street near Sixth Avenue at about 2 p.m. on Monday, April 7, when he was hit by the bicyclist, police say. The bicyclist fled the scene. 

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition and was placed in a medically induced coma while doctors treated him for a skull fracture. 

He's now in stable condition, according to police.
