Metro-North, LIRR Report Delays for Evening Rush

The commute home could be complicated for riders across several rail lines.

Metro-North says there are delays of 30 to 40 minutes into and out of Grand Central Terminal on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines due to power issues.

And the Long Island Rail Road says some trains on the Babylon branch were canceled due to a broken rail west of Jamaica station.

The LIRR experienced an unprecedented five broken rails last Friday, which caused hours-long delays during the morning rush. Railroad officials were investigating whether the single-digit temperatures may have contributed to the broken rails.
