2nd Bronx Suspect in Elderly Man's Chain-Snatching Arrested: Cops

Police have arrested the second of a pair of Bronx suspects who allegedly stole a chain and pendant off an elderly man who was on his way to place flowers near his dead mother's memorial photo for Mother's Day.

The 78-year-old victim had just bought the flowers when the suspects attacked him in front of a building on East Tremont Avenue May 10.

Officers who were conducting an operation in the area observed the robbery and chased the suspects, capturing and arresting one of them, 23-year-old Charles Hackett. The other suspect got away.

Police arrested him Friday. He's identified as 23-year-old Datwan Elliot. Elliot faces robbery, assault and grand larceny charges.

Attorney information for either of the suspects wasn't immediately available.
