More Questions Swirl Around Mayor's Top Aide

Mayor de Blasio is refusing to take questions about the latest revelations surrounding an embattled top aide who has been under scrutiny since it was revealed she lives with a convicted felon.

DNAinfo.com reported Friday that Rachel Noerdlinger, chief of staff to First Lady Chirlane McCray, and her underage son were in the car with the boyfriend, Hassaun McFarlan, in 2011 when McFarlan was stopped for driving the wrong way. Noerdlinger received a violation for allowing her boyfriend to drive without a license, according to DNAInfo, and McFarlan was arrested on a pot possession charge.

Later Friday, The New York Post reported Noerdlinger failed to disclose a near $30,000 tax lien on a form that all high-profile city officials are required to submit each year.

The latest controversies come a week after a Department of Investigation probe into Noerdlinger's failure to disclose she lives with a convicted felon cleared her of wrongdoing.

The mayor has repeatedly defended her.

Noerdlinger has become a flashpoint in the mayor's strained relationship with the rank-and-file NYPD.

She has declined to comment.
