Mayor Bill de Blasio is expected to undergo surgery for a hernia on Friday, his office says.
He won't be conducting official business at City Hall on Friday as a result of the surgery.
The mayor will have his Sunday schedule and then return to City Hall Monday, a spokeswoman said.
