Child Airlifted to Hospital After Being Struck by Car on L.I.

A child on Long Island was airlifted to a hospital after being struck by a vehicle, police said.

The child was hit at Charles Avenue and Clark Boulevard in Massapequa Park at about 4 p.m., police said. Chopper 4 over the scene showed the vehicle's windshield was smashed. 

The child, whose age or sex was not released, was airlifted to Nassau University Medical Center. The child's condition was not immediately known.
