Maserati Takes Out Bagel, Chicken Shops on Long Island

A Maserati took out two Long Island storefronts after it lost control Monday night and slammed into the adjacent businesses.

The driver, 40-year-old Michael Bidetti, lost control of his car before it crashed into Higbie Bagels and Flavor Crisp Chicken on Higbie Lane in West Islip around 10:30 p.m., police said.

Video shows the car sticking out of the Flavor Crisp Chicken as investigators inspect the debris-filled parking lot.

Police say both stores were closed at the time of the crash.

Bidetti was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. His car was impounded for a safety check.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call Crime Stoppers at 800-224-TIPS.
