Queens Man Gets Prison for Stripping Church Van

A Queens man will spend two to four years in prison for stripping a van that was used to get elderly people to church.

Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown announced Wednesday that Benjamin Livermore has been sentenced as a "second felony offender'" -- meaning it wasn't his first conviction for stripping a vehicle.

A witness called 911 after seeing him pry parts off the van in broad daylight in October 2011. He was still doing it when police got there.

The New Greater Church of New York said the van had recently gone missing.

The vehicle was valued at $30,000.
