17-Year-Old Arrested in Stabbing During Staten Island House Party Brawl

An 18-year-old man was stabbed nine times at a house party on Staten Island Monday night, and police have arrested a teen who apparently knew him, authorities say.

The teen victim was stabbed nine times in the chest and back with a box cutter and was taken to an area hospital, where he went into surgery, police said.

At around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, the victim was out of surgery, according to police. The district attorney's office said he remained in a serious condition.

Daniel Milton, 17, of Staten Island was arrested at his home shortly before noon on Tuesday. He is charged with assault with the intent to cause serious injury and criminal possession of a weapon, police said. It's not clear if he has an attorney.

The fight happened after an argument over a girl, authorities later confirmed. The victim and Milton went to the same high school, police said.

The stabbing occurred Monday night at a house party in Annadale where close to 100 people were inside a house on Koch Boulevard, officials said. Beer cans and cups were still strewn on the street outside Tuesday morning as detectives continued to investigate.

Neighbors described a wild party with music blaring and cars lining the streets.

Milton's bail was set at $200,000 and he was set to return to court Monday.
