Man, 22, Stabbed, Killed in Brooklyn: NYPD

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital after being stabbed in the abdomen and arm

A 22-year-old man was stabbed and killed Sunday afternoon after a fight with another man on a Brooklyn street corner, according to the NYPD.

Police say a man in his 50s or 60s stabbed Giovanni Rodriguez several times in the arm and stomach about 3:15 p.m. at 57th Street and Fourth Avenue in Sunset Park after the two got into an argument that escalated and turned physical.

The man then left the scene after the stabbing and Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the hospital. It's unclear whether the two knew each other, police say.

Early Monday morning, Rodriguez's friends and family set up a small memorial near where the young father and shopkeeper died. One friend, Nicole Arroyo, said he lived just across the street and is shocked that Rodriguez died.

"I can't believe this happened, I'm still in shock," Arroyo said.
