Man Sought in 15 Armed Robberies Across Long Island: Police

Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with 15 armed robberies across Long Island.

The man was last seen robbing a Mobil gas station around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Nassau County police.

He walked into the gas station armed with a black, semi-automatic handgun covered with a green cloth and demanded money from the male cler, police said.

He then got away with an undetermined amount of cash, fleeing westbound onto Myrtle Avenue. 

No injuries were reported.

Nassau County police say the man is wanted in more than a dozen other robberies, dating back to Aug. 4.

Mother Kenya Smith said she often stops into one of the station's the man is suspected of robbing in the last two months. 

"Our kids are actually walkers to the middle school and just to know that someone is doing this is very concerning," she said.

Officials will hold a news conference Friday at 10 a.m. to release more information.

Police have released surveillance photos and a sketch of the suspect, who they say is in his 20s and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black short-sleeved shirt, a blue and white bucket hat, and white sneakers. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
