43-Year-Old Man Shot and Killed in the Bronx

The shooting happened just before 5 a.m. in Tremont

A man was shot killed and another person was assaulted and robbed early Sunday morning in the Bronx, authorities said.

According to police, the shooting and robbery happened just before 5 a.m. in Tremont. Officers responding to a report of a man shot inside an apartment on East 187th Street, discovered a 43-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head and neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 19-year-old man was also found with a cut on his head and was taken to a nearby hospital. Upon investigation officers determined the shooter assaulted the man while leaving the building and took his wallet.

The details surrounding the shooting remain unclear. No arrests have been made and police have yet to release a description of a suspect.
