Man Sentenced in Foiled JFK Bomb Plot

A man charged in a foiled plot to blow up fuel tanks at Kennedy Airport has been sentenced to 15 years behind bars.

A judge imposed the prison term on Abdel Nur on Thursday in federal court in Brooklyn.

The 60-year-old Nur had pleaded guilty last year to providing material support in the terror scheme.

A jury convicted two other men, Abdel Kadir and Russell Defreitas, on charges they wanted to kill thousands by using explosives to blow up the fuel tanks. Prosecutors said they sought the help of militant Muslims in Guyana.

Kadir, who's a former member of Guyana's parliament, was sentenced last month to life in prison. Defreitas will be sentenced on Feb. 17.
