Man Seeking MetroCard Swipe at Brooklyn Subway Punches Man Who Refuses Him: NYPD

Police are searching for a man accused of punching a subway customer in the face when he refused to swipe the suspect in with a MetroCard at the turnstile, police said.

The suspect was inside the 8th Avenue N-train station in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, at about 5 a.m. Oct. 19, when he asked the victim to swipe him in at the turnstile, police said. 

The victim tried to avoid the suspect and moved to another turnstile. The suspect moved closer and punched him in the face, then ran out of the station, police said.

The victim declined medical attention at the scene. 

The suspect is described as being in his 30s, about 6 feet 2 inches and 180 pounds, with long dreadlocks. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
