A man pushing a lawnmower was struck and killed by an apparent drunk driver on Long Island, police said.
Nicholas Pineda-Maldonado, 58, was pushing the mower on Sunken Meadow Road in Fort Salonga on Friday afternoon when he was struck, Suffolk County police said.
Pineda-Maldonado later died at Saint Catherine of Sienna Medical Center in Smithtown, police said.
Eugene Coyne, 69, of Kings Park, was charged with driving while intoxicated, police said. It wasn't clear whether he had an attorney.
