Man With Plastic Bag Over Head Steals 55-Inch TV From New LGBT Center in Bronx: Police

A man wearing a black plastic bag over his head and gloves broke into a new LGBT health and wellness center in the Bronx and stole a 55-inch television before running off, authorities say.

Police said the man somehow broke into the nonprofit location in Melrose while it was being renovated in June. He only made off with the TV.

Last year, Boom!Health, a nonprofit collaboration involving CitiWide Harm Reduction and Bronx AIDS Services, signed a 25-year lease on the six-story building on Third Avenue, which previously had been home to the Brook House furniture store.

At the time, Boom! President Jose Davila told The Real Deal the building would serve as "an epicenter of problem-solving in the South Bronx."

Anyone with information about the suspect, pictured above, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
