Man Mad Over Poop Throws Dachshund Pup Into Street

Poor Coco the dog hurt her tail and ruptured stitches from a recent surgery in the fall.

A Long Island man apparently frustrated that a neighbor's dog kept allegedly using his lawn as a toilet grabbed the pup by the leash and tossed her into the street, police said.

Jamie Sanchez, 56, was arrested Saturday afternoon for torturing an animal after his 54-year-old neighbor called cops to report he abused her little Dachshund, police said.

Police said Sanchez got involved in a verbal argument with the unidentified female neighbor who was walking her dog Coco, a 1-year-old female Dachshund near his property. Sanchez and his wife had complained that the animal had going to the bathroom on their lawn before, reports the Daily News.

Sanchez threatened to let his much heavier dog loose on the victim and her dog if she walked her dog on his property, authorities said. When the victim threatened to call the cops, Sanchez grabbed the leash from her and flung the dog six feet into the air and 10 feet into the middle of the street.

Poor Coco hurt her tail and ruptured stitches from a recent surgery in the fall. She was taken to her veterinarian for treatment.

Sanchez was charged with overdriving, torturing animals under the New York State Agricultural and Market Law and reckless endangerment to property. He's scheduled to be arraigned today in First District Court, Hempstead.

It wasn't immediately clear if Sanchez had a lawyer.
