Man Killed, 2 People Seriously Injured in NJ Crash: Authorities

A collision on a major New Jersey roadway killed one man and seriously injured two other people, authorities said.

Jeffrey Weiss, 49, of Mays Landing, was stopped near Tower Avenue on the Black Horse Pike on Saturday evening when his car was rear-ended by a car driven by 29-year-old John Rivera, also of Mays Landing, Egg Harbor Township police said.

Weiss was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Rivera and a passenger in Weiss' car, whose name has not been released, both suffered serious injuries and were taken to the hospital. But further details on their conditions were not available Sunday.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
