UPDATE: Rally Planned After Transgender Woman Beaten on Queens Street
Police say they're investigating a violent assault on a man on a residential Queens street early Sunday morning.
The 35-year-old man was found with injuries to the head and face on 93rd Street in Jackson Heights at about 4 a.m. Sunday, according to police.
He was beaten so badly that blood stains were still splattered on the sidewalk Monday evening.
The man was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition.
Police are investigating it as a possible hate crime because the victim was dressed in women's clothing.
