A man who fatally shot his father-in-law outside a social hall in central New Jersey has been arrested, prosecutors said.

Middlesex County prosecutors say 32-year-old Douglas Roman Rodriguez shot 49-year-old Roberto Laureano multiple times Friday night at the Knights of Columbus building in Carteret.

They say the two Carteret men had been involved in a dispute, but did not disclose further details.

No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

Roman Rodriguez was at large after the shooting, but turned himself in to the Carteret Police Department Saturday night, prosecutors said. 

He has been charged with first-degree murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. 

He is expected to appear in court on Jan. 2. His attorney information wasn't immediately available.
