Pennsylvania Man Busted With Loaded Gun at JFK

An alarm went off as the man's vest went through an X-ray scanner during a pre-flight security check

Authorities say a Pennsylvania man bound for Los Angeles was arrested at John F. Kennedy Airport after he tried to pass through security with a loaded handgun and a pair of brass knuckles.

The Queens district attorney's office says 55-year-old Richard Forti, of Annville, was arrested Wednesday morning on criminal possession of a weapon charges. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.

The weapons were discovered in the Lebanon County man's vest when an alarm went off as it went through an X-ray scanner during a pre-flight security check.

Authorities say the semi-automatic pistol had five rounds of ammunition in the magazine.

If convicted, Forti faces up to 25 years in prison.
