A 56-year-old man was arrested at JFK airport when a TSA screener found an ice pick encased in his cane, Port Authority Police said.
The man, of Wading River, New York, was passing through security just after midnight on Tuesday when the screener discovered the ice pick.
The man told the screener he did not realize the weapon was inside his cane, but was arrested and given a desk appearance ticket anyway.
He is due back in court on Dec. 2, Port Authority Police said.
