Man Charged With Murdering Woman Found Dead in Trunk of Parked Car

A 30-year-old man has been formally charged with murder, grand larceny and other crimes in the death of a woman who was found in the trunk of a parked car in Queens two months ago.

Luis Zambrano was arrested Friday, a month and a half after he was apprehended in Virginia in connection with the investigation into the death of 28-year-old Angie Escobar.

The Queens Village woman was found dead in the trunk of a car near Zambrano's home Sept. 11, three days after she had been reported missing.

Zambrano was allegedly seen driving the car in which she was found. It was also parked close to his residence.

In addition to murder and grand larceny charges, Zambrano faces charges of tampering with physical evidence, intimidation and criminal possession of a weapon. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney.
