A masked man wielding a knife has struck for a 16th time on Long Island, Suffolk County police say.
The man held up a worker at an ice cream shop Wednesday night on Long Island and authorities say it appears to be linked to other knife-point robberies in the area, police said.
The man, armed with a large knife, walked into a Baskin-Robbins in Bohemia along Sunrise Highway shortly before 9 p.m. and demanded cash, police said.
The suspect then ran away on foot and into an awaiting car, authorities said.
The robbery comes just 24 hours after a Subway restaurant was held up Tuesday night in Ronkonkoma, police said.
That same suspect is tied to at least 15 other robberies across Nassau and Suffolk counties, according to officials.
