An 83-year-old man died Monday night after the car he was in veered off the Long Island Expressway and hit a pole, police say.
Dominic Bottiglieri, of Coram, was riding with his stepson on the expressway near Melville when the car crashed, Suffolk County police say.
Bottiglieri’s stepson was taken to the hospital after the crash but is expected to live.
The car was impounded for a safety check, police say. No arrests have been made.
