A 56-year-old man is in critical condition after he was punched in the face by a stranger in a seemingly unprovoked attack, police say.
The victim was standing on the sidewalk on Roosevelt Avenue near 69th Street in Woodside just after midnight Friday when a man approached and hit him in the face, police say.
Afterward, the attacker left the scene, and the victim was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital.
On Monday, police released a surveillance photo (above) of a man in his mid-20s who is wanted for questioning in the attack.
Anyone with information regarding the attacker is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
