MTA Bus Driver Slashed by Passenger: Police

The man attacked the driver on the BX5 bus in the Bronx

An MTA bus passenger slashed a driver in the arm with a razor blade in the Bronx, then ran away, police say. 

The driver was operating the BX5 bus in the Longwood section of the Bronx when the passenger attacked him at about 3 p.m., just as the driver was about to announce the next stop, police said. 

The suspect ran off the bus, leaving his cell phone behind. 

The driver was taken Lincoln Hospital and is in good condition. He told police the attack was unprovoked. 

Police are searching for the suspect.
