City Bus Driver Arrested in Road Rage Stabbing: MTA

A city bus driver was arrested Tuesday in Queens for allegedly stabbing another motorist in the arm in an altercation apparently prompted by road rage, the MTA said.

The bus driver, 30-year-old Ephraim Henry, was operating an empty Q52 bus around the time of the 1:30 p.m. stabbing near Beach 67th Street and Beach Channel Drive, authorities said.

Police say it appears Henry, who was on duty, and the other motorist had a previous dispute over a woman, though it wasn't clear what prompted Tuesday's confrontation. He was charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Attorney information wasn't available.

Tuesday's stabbing was in the same area where an MTA bus was hit by stray bullets during a street shooting a day earlier. In that case, the driver's side of the bus was hit twice as it was parked at a stop.

No one on the bus was injured, but a 21-year-old man on the ground was shot in the leg. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

It wasn't clear if the two cases were related.
