Nassau County police charged a Long Island woman with aggravated driving while intoxicated Sunday after she was stopped for allegedly speeding and officers found her 8-year-old son in the vehicle, authorities said.
In addition to aggravated DWI, Sheri Hinds, 28, of Farmingdale, was charged with DWI, endangering the welfare of a child and vehicle and traffic violations, police said.
Police said they stopped Hinds at about 6:45 a.m. after observing her Nissan sedan speeding southbound on the Meadowbrook Parkway. They arrested her and sent her son home with his father.
Hinds is scheduled for arraignment on Monday.
