A Port Washington man has been charged with making a terroristic threat after he allegedly said he would shoot out the windows at a Long Island town hall with a shotgun, police say.
The 59-year-old man called North Hempstead’s 311 call center Wednesday afternoon, allegedly upset that the town was removing trees from his property, Nassau County police say.
When he made the threat, the town’s deputy supervisor evacuated the town hall for part of the day, causing a business stoppage.
The man was arrested at his home later that afternoon.
