Long Island Special Needs Teacher Accused of Groping Teen Girl During Haunted House Fundraiser

A 24-year-old special education teacher and volunteer firefighter is accused of groping a teen during a haunted house fundraiser on Long Island, police say.

Justin Russo, who teaches in the Sachem school district, allegedly touched a 15-year-old girl while they volunteered at a haunted mansion fundraiser at the Farmingville fire station where he volunteered on Saturday, Newsday reports.

After investigating, police also revealed that Russo had allegedly inappropriately touched a woman last July at another fire department event in Selden.

Russo's attorney says his client surrendered voluntarily to police on Saturday and volunteered to take a polygraph test.

The Sachem school district has placed Russo on administrative leave with pay.
