Long Island Scavenger Hunt List Gives Points for Stealing Mailboxes, Dancing on Graves: Report

Leaked instructions for a scavenger hunt asking students to perform lewd and illicit acts is causing a stir at a Long Island school district.

The list appeared Monday on the Sachem Patch website and assigns points for different acts.

It listed such things as speeding at 100 mph for 10 points and defecating on someone's doorstep or eating someone else's food at Applebee's for 50 points.

Police Monday received reports of a stolen mailbox and cemetery vandalism. The list published by Patch included "steal a mailbox" and "dance on grave."

Newsday says Twitter users identifying themselves as Sachem East High School students and alumni said the scavenger hunt for Sachem East seniors happened Sunday night. The tweets said the list was leaked to Patch by an unidentified parent.

School officials said the event wasn't a school activity. School officials talked to students Tuesday about showing responsible behavior at all times.
