A Long Island woman has been arrested after authorities say she stole $35,000 from a preschool where she worked as a bookkeeper.
Lauren Comber surrendered to Southampton Town Police on Tuesday and was arrested on a grand larceny charge.
Authorities allege the 30-year-old stole about $35,000 from the Rainbow Preschool in Sag Harbor between November 2012 and January 2014.
The Sag Harbor woman worked as a bookkeeper for the school. Police say she used the stolen money to make personal purchases. School officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.
Comber was expected to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon. It was not clear whether she had an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
