Two people were found outside a flaming Long Island home Wednesday evening, one of them severely burned, after authorities responded to a call about a blaze.
Arson detectives are investigating the cause of the fire at the two-story home on County Road 111 in Manorville. Officials say the fire broke out just before 8 p.m., and when first responders arrived, they found a man and a woman outside.
Both were airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital. The man suffered severe burns and is listed in serious condition, officials said. The woman is expected to survive; the nature of her injuries wasn't immediately clear.
It took multiple fire departments about an hour and a half to get the fire under control. The home was heavily damaged, though.
