Long Island Homes Scrawled With ‘MS-13' Graffiti

Police are investigating a report that graffiti invoking the gang MS-13 was splashed onto homes on a Long Island street, about two weeks after the gang name was painted on a neighboring community's high school.

The latest incident happened between 9 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday on Seward Drive in Woodbury. Nassau County police say multiple homes were hit with silver spray paint saying "MS13" and various profanities.

MS-13 is the El Salvador-based street gang blamed for more than 20 killings on Long Island in the past year and a half.

On Aug. 27, Nassau police said graffiti with "MS13," profanities, swastikas and other anti-Semitic messages was spray-painted overnight on Syosset High School.

It's not clear whether the same people may be involved in both episodes.
