L.I. Couple Accused of 6 Home Burglaries in a Month

Twenty-three-year-old Samantha Knab and 22-year-old Michael Willis, both of Center Moriches, were taken into custody after a homeowner called 911

A couple has been arrested in connection with six residential burglaries on Long Island within the last month.

Twenty-three-year-old Samantha Knab and 22-year-old Michael Willis, both of Center Moriches, were taken into custody after a homeowner called 911 on Thursday.

Police say the pair rang the homeowner's doorbell but she didn't answer because she believed the two were solicitors. She called police after she noticed the couple trying to break into her Coram house through a window.

Police say the two fled but were apprehended a short time later.

They say an investigation revealed that Knab and Willis were involved in five other home burglaries in Selden and Port Jefferson Station.

They were charged with burglary, attempted burglary and other charges.

It wasn't immediately known if they had obtained lawyers.
